Family Day 2010 Pictures!!!

We had a GREAT time at our Second Annual Family Day! The day kicked off with a "Welcome to Hye Camp" orientation, followed by an awesome barbeque lunch. After lunch, our mini day at camp began! Families in attendance got to experience a day in the life of a camper and enjoyed activities such as arts and crafts, basketball at our new sports court, eating yummy choreg for "num-nums" and participating in CAMPFIRE! The event was very successful and we would like to thank all the Families and Friends of Hye Camp who participated! To see all fun we had, follow this link http://hyecamp.smugmug.com and check out all of our Family Day pictures!

Camperships Available Through Your Local Sunday School!

For the 9th consecutive year the Z. Victor Paparigian and Marion V. Paparigian Charitable Foundation is proud to offer "Camperships" to children who faithfully attend Sunday School. Camperships cover the entire cost of Armenian Summer Camp tuition (transportation costs are not covered by the Campership and will remain the responsibility of the camper and their family).

To apply for a Campership:

  • Fill out the attached application (click on the PDF icon to the right) and turn it into your Parish's Sunday School Superintendent or Parish Priest.
  • Apply to camp:  http://hyecamp.squarespace.com/camper-application
  • Submit payment yourself or have your local parish send immediate payment which will be reimbursed by the Foundation if your child is awarded a Campership.  Please note: Your child will not be confirmed into a week of Camp until payment is received.

The Western Diocese Summer Camp program continues to be one of the most affordable week-long summer camp programs available to the Armenian community, and the Summer Camp Committee is grateful to the Paparigian Foundation for their continuing generosity.

Staff Training Sessions – MANDATORY for All Staff

The 2010 Summer Camp training session will take place on June 26th at the Diocesan Headquarters in Burbank, CA. In order to accommodate everyone, we are offering a second training session on July 10th at St. Gregory, Fowler. Failure to attend either the primary or secondary training session will jeopardize your placement at Camp.

Although exceptions have been made in the past for those who could not attend, we cannot stress enough, that this year there will be NO EXCEPTIONS. No matter what your prior Summer Camp experience, you are required to attend the training. The training is an opportunity to collaborate with other staff members attending your same week of camp and for the Camp Committee to pass along important programing changes. This year we are updating our training in response to the feedback we received last year and to remain compliant with changes in California law.

If you have already applied and indicated you cannot attend either training session, you will not be considered for a position. If your plans have changed, you may email us at info@hyecamp.com. Please do not go on-line to update your application yourself. Please note that if you commit to attend a particular training session and do not show up, you will immediately be removed from your position and your spot will be given to someone on the wait list. We have already had an overwhelming number of applicants this year and believe it is unfair to turn away applicants who are more committed to the Camp Program.

Again, thank you for your dedication to our Camp Program. With your participation, we are able to continue this important tradition now and for future generations of our Armenian youth. Summer Camp is a place to make friends and memories that will last forever!
