Wedensday - Week 2 - Dance the Night Away!

Laghmajoun rocks and so do our campers and counselors who painstakingly made each mezza size delicious piece during our Armenian Cooking classes!

Our first year ever Dunlapian Games went off to an amazing start and tested the skills of our campers on every level!  They of course beat every challenge and made us all proud with their diligence, determination and athletic skills!  Yay Dunlapian Champions of Hye Camp!

May the Forest be with you Dance brought out the inner power of all the campers, counselors and not to mention energetic staff!  From creative and fun costumes to electrifying dance moves down to the international tunes played by our awesome AMS music DeeJay, the whole event was super, super, super!  Our intrepid photographer Sona (Sona is AWESOME!) saw photo opportunities at every turn, as you also will at the end of the week when we download all the photos on our webiste!  For now, enjoy this sample!

Tuesday - Week 2

Karoun, Karoun Karoun e….Armenian Dance classes right after breakfast (pancakes YUMMY) and fishing before breakfast. Campers ha a fun night hike after dinner (Pilaf, Tri-tip, DELICIOUS) and all kinds of fun in between!

The weather is glorious, as if we ordered it ourselves!  The campers are in high spirit, making new friends and cementing old ties.  How lucky we (staff, counselors) are to witness the burgeoning of such minds and spirits.  Today Father Hovel reminded the campers that the growth of a spirit is infinite and is not hampered by a limited physical size!

Our evening hike was no other, and simply for the fact that a sweet camper serenated us with exquisite violin playing right on top of the hill! How lucky are we!

We ended the day and night with a very blissful star gazing evening, huddled together on our basketball court, sweet dreams to us all!

Monday - Week 2

With solid meals prepared by our wonderful Chef Joe and team, served by our capable and indomitable Hospitality Ladies, our campers were fully prepared for a fun filled day of activities and Armenian culture education classes! During classes, campers get a chance to earn "Vatche Bucks" to purchase keepsake items at the "canteen" such as pencils, flashlights, necklaces, bracelets, etc.

What an amazing group of campers we have this week!  They are lively, intelligent (Oh boy are they intelligent!), inquisitive and just so wonderfully behaved.  We love them all!

Der Mesrop, Der Hovel and Der Krikor joined us with their lovely families, how proud we are of them!

After a fun filled afternoon of sports activities and Arts & Crafts, we took a panoramic group photo which will be printed and sent home with each camper!  A Great Memento of a great week!
